{"id":1204,"date":"2021-11-15T05:17:56","date_gmt":"2021-11-15T05:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unclekentang.com\/bi\/?p=1204"},"modified":"2021-11-15T05:17:59","modified_gmt":"2021-11-15T05:17:59","slug":"uk-counter-terrorism-police-arrest-three-after-liverpool-car-blast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unclekentang.com\/bi\/2021\/11\/15\/uk-counter-terrorism-police-arrest-three-after-liverpool-car-blast\/","title":{"rendered":"UK counter-terrorism police arrest three after Liverpool car blast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>LONDON, Nov 15 (Reuters) &#8211; Counter-terrorism officers arrested three men after a vehicle exploded outside a hospital in the northern English city of Liverpoolon Sunday,killing one person and wounding another, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A male passenger in the car was declared dead at the scene, while the male driver was injured and was in hospital in a stable condition, police said.https:\/\/010e74f9a77f0d32fffbfab5981a7ee5.safeframe.googlesyndication.com\/safeframe\/1-0-38\/html\/container.html<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Counter-terrorism officers said they were investigating the case with local police and that they were keeping an open mind as to what had happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said his thoughts were with those people affected and interior minister Priti Patel&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pritipatel\/status\/1459919035152404480\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;she was being kept regularly updated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three men &#8211; aged 29, 26, and 21 &#8211; were detained in the Kensington area of the city and arrested under the Terrorism Act, police said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said police were called to reports of a car explosion just before 1100 GMT outside Liverpool Women&#8217;s Hospital, just as a Remembrance Day Service was commemorating war dead at the nearby Liverpool Cathedral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police said they understood that the car involved was a taxi that pulled up at the hospital shortly before the explosion occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Work is still ongoing to establish what has happened,&#8221; Kennedy told reporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are keeping an open mind as to what caused the explosion but given how it has happened, out of caution, counter-terrorism police are leading the investigation supported by Merseyside Police.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police said the explosion had not been declared a terrorist incident at this stage. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON, Nov 15 (Reuters) &#8211; Counter-terrorism officers arrested three men after a vehicle exploded outside a hospital in the northern English city of Liverpoolon Sunday,killing one person and wounding another, police said.
