GEORGE TOWN, April 18 (Bernama) — Penang FC are still without a win after five matches in the Super League and chief coach Tomas Trucha said the team should redouble their efforts instead of being disheartened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trucha said he still believes in the team and would work to overcome their weaknesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I will analyse the match together with the players and want them to rectify their mistakes in the next match so that we can get our first win this season,\u201d he told reporters here after Penang lost to Kedah Darul Aman FC last night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trucha said the team badly missed the services of three key players, Anselmo Arruda da Silva, Rafael Vitor Santos de Freitas and Muhammad Adib Abdul Ra’op, through injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“These three are first-choice players and their absence forced us to change our style of play. We need a bit of time to find the rhythm,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trucha said the team’s confidence might have been affected by their winless run but he wants them to soldier on as it is still early in the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Now is not the time to play beautiful or attractive football. We need to go for a win to improve our position in the Super League,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the match against Kedah, the Panthers led 1-0 at half-time but two goals by Kedah striker Wanja Ronald Ngah gave the visitors a 2-1 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kedah chief coach Aidil Sharin Sahak said his players had gone into the match with a winning mentality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We revised our game plan against Penang and were confident of getting a win although we trailed by a goal due to a mistake. I’m happy the players came back in the second half to chalk up a win,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Penang will meet Sri Pahang in Kuantan while Kedah will play Sabah in Kota Kinabalu on April 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
