KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Bernama) — Malaysia Airlines has renewed its partnership with SITA — an information technology (IT) solutions provider for the air transport industry — for a comprehensive upgrade that will link its global operations with its hub in Kuala Lumpur through fast, secure and reliable network connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, Malaysia Airlines said it will leverage SITA Connect which provides network connectivity, allowing team members to access central systems from anywhere, supporting the airline\u2019s worldwide operation for employees working remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSITA Connect will lower connectivity costs, improve the quality of service, enable ease of access to new features and applications and facilitate their passengers’ check-in process worldwide, benefiting from SITA’s global presence at over 650 airports across 220 countries and territories,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malaysia Airlines emphasised that security was a key factor in selecting SITA\u2019s solution to support the airline\u2019s critical operational systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBoosting the connectivity, security and agility of the backbone technologies that support Malaysia Airlines will ensure that we are ready for the influx of passengers over the coming months, helping us to deliver a seamless travel experience for all,\u201d said group chief executive officer, Izham Ismail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile SITA Asia Pacific president,\u00a0Sumesh Patel said\u00a0SITA has a long history of collaboration with Malaysia Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are excited to renew the relationship once more by upgrading several services that will ultimately help deliver a smooth passenger process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOperational efficiency is under the microscope in the wake of the pandemic, and we are committed to helping the industry recover with smart solutions that are resilient, agile and cost-effective,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
