Nordin is a fisherman. Uncle Kentang team met him in Cancer Institute Negara when he brought along his wife for cancer treatment. He was penniless and he sought help from the social unit of the hospital.
The social unit in Cancer Institute then contacted Uncle Kentang to seek for additional assistance such as ambulance transportation for his wife. A visit to Nordin house revealed that he has 3 young children. He stopped going to the sea to catch fishes as he needed to take care of his sick wife.
He also lamented that his boat was broken and his engine was no longer running. We assessed that he needs a new boat and a new engine for him to feed his 3 young children.
We immediately rang the alarm and Gadang came to our rescue by donating RM 8000 for the new boat which cost RM 9200. We need to raise another RM 8300 for a Suzuki 30hp engine. The boat is 22 feet long and we hope to raise enough funds to buy the engine for Nordin so he can go to the sea and make a living as a fisherman.
His wife passed away recently and now he has to work harder to feed and raise his children by himself. If you are keen in helping him, just make a donation at kentangfund.com.
