Lazada collaborates with Nutribah to support Sabah’s agricultural digitalisation

KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) — Lazada Malaysia (Lazada), ahead of the Kaamatan Festival, is partnering with Nutribah, Sabah’s all-in-one wellness hub and top organic superfood producer, to support and stimulate the digitalisation of the state’s agricultural sector by promoting produce and products from local organic farmers.

The primary goal of the collaboration is to address the scarcity of appropriate distribution channels for farmers in the state to sell their crops and products.

Lazada, in a statement, said with this partnership, Nutribah and local organic farmers in Sabah will be able to expand their sales channels, reaching out to more than one-third of Malaysians who shop on the Lazada platform, generating more income and future-proof the livelihoods of the state’s farmers.

ts chief operating officer Darren Rajaratnam said that supporting Sabah’s efforts to digitalise its agricultural sector is part of Lazada’s commitment to enable sellers and help build sustainable local communities.

“There is a growing demand for fresh produce and wellness-related items and products amongst Malaysian consumers, and we are happy to welcome Nutribah and their network of organic farmers to the Lazada family, to provide shoppers direct and easy access to said products,” he said in the statement.

Nutribah executive director, Preston Sean Soh, in the same statement, said that the cooperation with Lazada will enable farmers to sell their produce directly to customers at a reduced cost, and subsequently earn a more stable income stream.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with Keamatan Festival and Gawai Day, Lazada’s 6.6 Gen Gaya Sale, from May 27 to June 2, 2022, will offer exclusive free shipping vouchers (terms and conditions apply) to shoppers in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, to drive traffic and boost revenue for the sellers, such as Nutribah, Sabah Tea and EAcommerce.

Additionally, Lazada users in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan receive RM5 off their order with a special Boost voucher when they spend a minimum of RM80.
