Thank you so much for supporting us and me for the past 20 years. Never we know how fast time flies and today we enter into the 20th year of Por Tor celebrations.

Looking back, I can just mused and smile. The first year is a very “kan cheong’ (anxious year) where we started from zero and donations were hard to come by. I remembered how I was then fat (pui) and I went doors to doors to ask for donation.

I was scorned off and ridiculed and labelled as a con man or a wannabe cheater. Some even donate RM1 to me and I had to issue receipt for that RM1. I was humiliated, devastated and cried in my heart.

My heels were bloodied as I wore slipper and walk for miles to ask for support and donation. There are some who donated RM100 too but few. Many just stared at me with disbelief in their eyes.

No one ever started “Por Tor” in Maju Jaya Puchong. Who are you to start Por Tor, not knowing a word of Chinese and morever I am a Cantonese and most Por Tor were done by Hokkiens.

Nevertheless, I, Jacky, Chiang, Pang ( deceased), Wong Chai( Puchong Intan), Leong ( Bandar Puteri) went ahead despite a few who boycotted.

We were in deep trouble and trembling with fear as our consultant by then demanded we settle all bills by the 2nd day of celebration. We were short of RM80,000 by then. I do not know what makes Jacky to tell me to buy 4 digit, telling that normally the spirits ( hau xiong tit) will help us when we are in trouble.

True enough the number on the ( Big House) came out 2nd prize in Kuda and we not only manage to clear all debts but we have remaining. Words caught like a wild fire and many supporters came in and rallied in donations and we passed the first exam.

Not only that, we also raised fund for many SJKC and helped out in their fundraising activities over the past 20 years. We thank all Por Tors in Malaysia who stood solidly behind SJKC and of course we will continue to stick like a leech in ensuring every child should have the best of education. The spirit of support will never be lessened nor dwindled.

Looking back, each and every small step we took came from the cumulative effort of each and every one of you, present or not here tonight. Every sweat, effort is worth for the cause to continue the celebration to honor the fallen heroes before us.

We need to thank those who came before us, our ancestors, our leaders who make Malaysia better to present us a better country.

I fear to think without each and everyone support, we cannot come far as today, 20 years, it is never a easy journey. Today, we can honored to say, with everyone support too, we manage to buy 22 ambulance and serve many sicks who cannot afford to pay for ambulance charges.

We save many lives in time of emergency. And of course we thousands of cancer patients and many stroke patients lying on their beds staring helplessly at the whining fan and ceiling.

Their world is almost like a jail. They are being jailed by their sickness feeling helpless and we step in to bring them some smiles and transport to hospitals for treatment. Our medical teams are always on the spirit of saving lives and helping the sicks. This CANNOT HAPPEN without your trust and support. You all indeed, with the trust and support given to us and me, pave the way to a integrated system of helping the sick.

Free electrical beds, wheelchairs, other medical equipment are being disbursed to those who need. We thank Be Health for giving us tremendous support in giving the lowest price to help the sick.

Our ambulances ply the routes in KL and Selangor and response to emergency and non emergency, trauma and medical cases each day.

Imagine, without each and everyone trust and support, we simply cannot be where we are today. We are giving First Aid and CPR classes to thousands of Malaysians. This is another blessings that is being done with the support of you all.

The mannequins and teaching tools are often being upgraded to make the learning effective.

I bow to everyone, as the President of Por Tor Zhong Yuan Puchong Selatan, my heartfelt gratitude, you all have ease many sicks, poor and dead. We have performed many funerals for the poor and currently we register all those who do not have next of kin to do their funeral.

This “wang sang” card ( bereavement card) allow us to collect the bodies in mortuaries and perform their last rites accordingly. Wouldn’t it be sad, once we died, no one cares and collect our body? The body is often left cold in mortuaries for weeks before the authorities will handle. We give comfort and peace to those who cannot afford to do their own funerals.

How we managed to fund such a big run operations? Many wandered. All our staff are fully employed and paid. We have a program, Malaysia Hero. ( FuBoa Card) We sincerely request your contributions of RM10 a month and help cancer patients and bed ridden ones. Your RM 10 a month can save life as our ambulances respond to trauma and road accidents.

You can put smiles on the sicks as we transport them back and forth to hospitals to seek treatment. Your RM10 can change BIG someone life or SAVE MANY LIVES a month. How many opportunities one gets to save a life? Here , with your RM10, you save many lives each day. Is it amazing? You had saved many lives and we will keep going to save more by adding more teams and ambulance. The next free ambulance will be send to Negri Sembilan to help the sicks and poor there.

Once again, I thank you for coming to this dinner get together, for the past 20 years, and I wish every business success, everyone healthy and May Por Tor Kong bless everyone of you. Thank you for making the celebration a successful one. Each effort and tiny steps each of you take, will certainly lead to a better Puchong and a better Malaysia.

The effort in helping the SJKC and other schools certainly promised a better education ground to all children. Your contributions too will lead to a better medical response time and save many lives . Congratulations to all of you for being so kind and full of care. May it be medical, may it be education, I salute all of you with both hands for your kind and generous effort and contributions.
